McMachismo: Do Right by Eating Left

Confession and redemption by a fuckup is often an easy pairing for me personally.  Those who did wrong and then met opprobrium usually garners my sympathy.  But McClellan.  No.  I can’t give it to him.  Perhaps because he’s fat.  I don’t know.  I just can’t seem to have the same sentiment of “at least you had the balls to come out with it”.  No it’s not there.  I didn’t like him when he was a White House Press Secretary and even though he comes out with a book castrating the President, I still don’t like him.  Just look at him, a jovial fat white man:

What began as a rant and rave against a self-aggrandizing S. B. Woo has turned into a full fledged passion of anger and utter hate for the 80-20 group.  You see, on my blog, I have the right to be partial and bias, because…well…it is my blog.  However, when an Asian-American PAC goes around acting like a child and moreso like one man’s view points instead of that of his constituents, that’s when we got a problem. 

It doesn’t take much to read S. B. Woo or 80-20’s material and realize: Wow, this does not represent Asian Americans in both perspective and display of professionalism.  Case and point, the following article.

So here’s what happened.  80-20 emailed out to its 700,000 Republican members and told them to email their appropriate white republicans and be all like “care for us asian americans”.  To which their 700,000 80-20 republicans replied to the calling:

A huge number responded. They sent emails stating that “if you don’t meet with S. B. Woo, I will vote for all Democrats, and ask all my friends and relatives to do so.” They signed off with their names and addresses.

Is that something to be particularly proud of?  If you don’t meet w/ S. B. Woo, then you can forget it…i’m going Democrat! Wha wha wha. Bitch Bitch Bitch. Is this exactly how we want these political parties to think of their Asian American members as?  What makes it worse, is that their demand isn’t to address Asian American issues…no no, 80-20 makes S. B. Woo the priority.  It’s all about Shien Biau Woo. 

I’m not going to go on with this posting.  You can go to it and read it for yourself…but it just drags on about how their heroic S. B. Woo was attacked by back stabbing Asian Americans blah blah blah.

This man, i cannot over emphasize, is utter complete bull shit.  The organization intimidates its own constituents and then claims a self-declaratory right on any successes.  Little do they know that they do not only represent the Asian American community but their utter lack of professionalism makes us all look bad.

Let’s start another Asian American PAC that isn’t revolved around ego and childish threats.

This week is passing by so slowly - it’s hard to believe that it’s wednesday.  Anyways, my little sister wrote an article about sex and college in the Harvard Crimson and got a psuedo nasty review about it in the Boston Daily Blog.  The Yi family is going to places!  Go Esther!

Which leads me to my next story…last week me and my family, in celebration of my mother’s birthday went to a nice Italian place in New Jersey called La Vecchia Napoli and guess who we saw there?  NJ Senator Menendez!  I rarely run into celebrities (I actually don’t think I actually have) but this one was definitely a good one.  I wanted to go say hello and that I met with him and his staffer but the red glow from the wine and my overgrown pussy had me do otherwise.

Well Super Tuesday was a Super Cock Tease.  McCain ended up being the full fledged front runner for the Republicans and meanwhile on the Democratic side…well, it’s pretty much the same as it was before Super Tuesday.  What the hell.  All that money, all that anticipation, all the waiting and BAM…its still a dead heat.  This shit’s got to end.  I need to watch some newsworthy news, not constant election coverage.

Well, Ukraine has finally joined the World Trade Organization after 14 years of talks! Congrats Yushchenko.   As a snub towards the mother russia, ukraine can veto russian membership to the WTO and so can tiny Georgia apparently.  It’s always a bitch fight around there. 

Secretary of HHS Levitt appeared on television saying how tough decisions are needed to be made and that there’s a serious need for health reform because its long overdue.  So he made huge ass cuts and leaves the building. 

Billy Martin seems to be more than just a lawyer, he’s also a pretty damn good PR person as well.  He’s Michael Vick’s and Larry Craig’s lawyer.  As soon as Billy Martin got on board Michael Vick actually looked remorseful and repentant while Larry Craig stopped fumbling with his zippers and managed to get onto Iowa’s Hall of Fame (or something like that).

Goooooooood morning!  It’s a chilly Thursday morning in DC and the left over snow from yesterday has thorougly frozen the ground…and thus causing delays in the underground (comes as no surprise).

In today’s news, General Petraeus goes on to saying that the situation in Iraq as improved BUT…there’s still so much damn work to come, I’ve heard that before:

“There’s nobody in uniform who’s doing victory dances in the end zone,” Petraeus said. “We see this as requiring a continued amount of tough work” in the fight against al Qaeda in Iraq.

True, there’s no one in uniform doing victory dances, but apparently there’s an old overweight white male in the White Housing doing some kind of jiggy.  According to Politico…

Vice President Cheney today predicted Iraq will be a self-governing democracy by the time he leaves office, calling the current U.S. surge strategy “a remarkable success story” that will be studied for years to come.

Now c’mon.  That’s some what dancing right?  And a remarkable success story that will be studied for years to come!?  What kind of language is that?  It’s like the People’s Revolution Kim Jong-Il is still waiting for….which leads me to the following….

Bush writes a secretive letter on Sanrio stationary to Kim Jong-Il with gel pens and accompanied with glitter and sequins.  It’s the first of its kind apparently for this administration!  Quite a long way we’ve come from branding them as the “Axis of Evil” to this. 

In Ukraine, the hot Yulia Tymoshenko has been nominated to the Prime Minister.  Not so interested in the news, but to my theory that Eastern European and Russia has got the powerful woman image down!  From the stout Soviet train conductors to the Yulia, you don’t wanna fuck with them.

ok, the umich vs. ohio state game sucked.  gosh.  it sucked so much.  what a feeling to crowd out of a bar with everyone glum. 

now usually don’t do this but i took the most amazing bus ride from Washington, DC to New York City last night.  the usually china town buses are loud, uncomfortable, and at best a bit of “alright.”  but yesterday for the first time i took ny2dc (or dc2ny…i forget) and it was great.  they had a movie, free internet access, and comfortable seats with good side head rests so people don’t end up knocking their temples on your shoulders as they fall asleep and throw up on your lap (it’s happened).

i’m not one to give free publicity but they took the cake when it came to service.  they even gave a nice “have a good trip” right before we left.

A few notes I wanted to get out:

• Congress plans on putting Labor-HHS Appropriations and Veterans Affairs Appropriations on….who would have guessed….Veterans Day (aww, how cute).  The President has threatened to veto Labor HHS but not the Veterans Affairs Approps - which is completely understandable.  who would want to veto VA approps on Veterans Day after setting up all those Veterans Day festivities and confetti.  Rumor has it that the President is saving the Labor HHS Appropriations for Labor Day ‘08!  The man’s a fricken genius.
• Ethiopia now has Java Scented condoms.  brings a whole new meaning to your morning cut of….java.  yuck. 
• Japan’s Democratic Party President Ozawa is stepping down because he’s created tumult within the party.  What is with these Japanese politicians for resigning and then blaming it on themselves for screwing up?  It must be some grief that would pull some politician out of the scene screaming “It was all my fault!”  what happened to the old fashioned “need to get back to the family” or “need to write a book” or “need to serve a few jail sentences which hopefully the president will pardon me out of”

so begins another weekend here.  the weather has gotten cooler which means i can sport this spiffy jacket.  today i attended some coalition meeting and on my way there at Union Station there was a display of Latvian cultural attire.  i spent about a good thirty minutes talking with her in Russian and the amazing part is…I understand everything she said.  i left the conversation so proud of myself.  i gave her my card along with a little wink and a nudge.

onto bigger and better things.

tonite i’ll be going to a corn maze with a few friends.  never done that before but looking forward to some hot apple cider afterwards…yummm.

and then some clubbing after that.  i’ve been going out way too much lately.  where the money comes from.  i don’t know.  but the drinks are cheap and the company is good.  so i can’t complain.

last night in celebration of halloween my favorite holiday of high regard, i went out with a few friends.  it was there we ran into a leather mommy whom we mistakenly called a police with a “i’ve been bad, arrest me!” kinda language.

she then turned around and said: “Police?  I’m not a fuckin’ police.  Do I look like a fuckin’ police?….police.  Arrest you.  I’m not the fuckin’ police.“  And with that she looked at me and said: “I’d just love to give you good ol’ wedgie…just pull that underwear up!  Up I say.“

• another bush crony bites the dust and is leaving to write a book.  supposedly her job was to improve the image of the US in the Middle East….wow.  someone’s not gonna be happy when they write up their resume.  hughes is peacin’ out!
• Mukasey is finding a harder time getting enough votes on the island as he anticipated.  a pity.
• pay back’s a bitch!  the phelp’s family and their supposedly “Christian” Westboro Baptist church have lost a law suit and is paying a nearly $11 million verdict to the Snyder family
